How it started
Club FBS was founded by Ronald Preston Clark, an educator and award-winning author. It is his heart in organizational form. His passion for literacy, mentorship, history, and social-emotional learning led him to design a program that could bring that vision to life. After recognizing how many young men wanted access to the sneaker world but didn’t have it, he found his incentive. Club FBS was born. It’s not the program he started with, but it has grown into the program it was meant to be.

What others say
From our families and communities
"Being part of Club FBS has been such a blessing for my son. It beautifully combines his love for reading with real-life financial knowledge, all while pouring into his confidence and growth. As a parent, there’s nothing better than seeing your child excited to learn and being guided in the right direction—this program is truly shaping future leaders."

Club FBS Parent (2nd year)
"Through Club FBS, he has gained far more than just mentorship; he’s found true brotherhood, consistent encouragement, and a strong support system that pours into him in all the right ways. The exposure to Black literature has been especially powerful, helping him better understand his history, his voice, and his place in the world.
What stands out most is how the program intentionally equips young men with real-life skills; teaching them how to navigate challenges, carry themselves with purpose, and move through life with confidence and integrity. The relationships he’s built and the lessons he’s learned will stay with him for years to come."

"As a single mother to a young Black man in San Diego, I wanted to get intentional about my son's village. In Club FBS, he is surrounded by men and boys who look like him. They provide a brotherhood and safe space as he is awakened to the world around him and his place in it."
